Southern California Collegiate Baseball League (another woodbat league) has cancelled their season as well. So that's six more teams that won't be playing.
Southwestern College (a community college in San Diego County) won't have any "contact sports" this Fall. And I'm sure that a bunch of other JuCo's in California (there's 115 of them) will make a similar announcement now that one has pulled the plug. The state has given these schools until July 17 to make their decision.
Unfortunately I was right when I wrote "I'm sure that a bunch of other JuCo's in California (there's 115 of them) will make a similar announcement now that one has pulled the plug". I'm proud to say that I was a JuCo transfer. I ran track (distance events) at College of the Desert. Sadly, they have since dropped the Men's track & field team, another Title IX casualty. They were the only college of any kind that contacted me about sports, so I said heck ya'. Go Roadrunners!
I haven't really followed Nascar since they switched to stage racing in 2017, but I'm watching it now on FOX. That's how much I miss live sports. But I'm still not a fan of stage racing.
I stopped watching NASCAR when my Dad died. I would sit with him and watch the start of a race. Then he would fall asleep in his chair and I'd go do something else. He said that was the one sport that he could see himself doing- he never played sports in high school. After he was gone, I had no desire to continue it.
