From all the bad things I've read about that university over the years they're lucky to still have an athletics program.

        • Here's a rare good story in this bizarre year of pandemic and dismay. Not only did Coach Brennan get an extension, he also got an endless supply of masks. ;)

I knew this was expected, but ouch for time zones and travel in that division. Even by air it is a 5+ hour flight from Montreal to Vancouver nonstop. It is better though I guess for Vancouver fans to not have all the games start while they are at work though.

It would have to be in a large market with multiple acceptable venues such as Indianapolis, North Texas (Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Frisco), Orlando, etc. where multiple "regional bubbles" can be staged before holding the later rounds at a single site.

And, yes, I'm aware that Indianapolis is tentatively set to be the "bubble site" for the men's tournament while San Antonio will reportedly hold the same role for the women's tourney.

I wanted to look into this story a little deeper because when I was a kid we lived in Durham, NC for about three years. My Dad was a career Marine and he taught ROTC courses at Duke. He was a West Virginia Mountaineers fan and the first college football and basketball games I saw were West Virginia playing at Duke. I was 6 years old and those college players looked like Goliath's to me.

West Virginia vs Duke, 1966. I can see my Dad and myself in this picture, or at least I think I can. :)

Both Iowa and UAB don't have opponents but it sounds like they won't be playing each other. Too bad- the Hawkeyes have been on a roll.
