Well that sucks! South Dakota State is my favorite FCS team and they're supposed to play Illinois State on the 27th. I hope that missing this game doesn't affect their playoff chances. Go Jackrabbits!

If I had to make a prediction, I'd say we'll probably be playing in the fall - but I'd imagine fan attendance might be spotty at best.

But yeah, a year's worth of bad news isn't fun. Fortunately, I think things are getting better - at least in the US. The curve has begun to flatten somewhat, and the amount of active cases has decrease steadily since January. I'm hoping the world will be a different place by summer - we'll see, I guess.

This is a couple weeks old but I just found out about it - the Thunder Bay Border Cats announced they have cancelled their season due to uncertainty over border restrictions:

It's a huge bummer for the fans and the stakeholders, but fortunately NWL quickly mobilized and drafted out their roster to the rest of the league, so they'll get a chance to play this summer.

I don't really blame Thunder Bay for pulling out, but I'd imagine they probably could have moved operations to the US in time for the season. The Fairbanks Ice Dogs of the NAHL did this winter.

This is still causing worry for the GNAC. If the border is still closed this fall it would effect SFU in all sports.
