  • UNC's Coach Roy Williams Retires

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/sport...north-carolina

Doesn't surprise me at all. I saw Coach Roy Williams recently on TV doing an interview, and he not only looked unhappy, he also looked as though he has aged 15 years in the past year.
???????Same definitely hold true for Duke's Coach K. I'm sure a lot of people believe that both Roy Williams and Coach K's ongoing variety of recent political views became a huge distraction from coaching basketball and possibly interfered with recruiting. Both UNC and Duke have players transferring to other schools. Will Coach K be next?

Duke doesn't seem to be struggling with recruiting. They are both old. Old people retire. So yes, I'm sure Coach K will also retire too.

I don't think politics played a part. Williams has been coaching for nearly 50 years, and Coach K isn't far behind. Half a century -- that's a long time, so it's not surprising that Williams is stepping away. I don't anticipate Coach K sticking around too much longer. Hopefully Duke is ready.
