The NSIC won't have any rookies this year as the only signee, Sebastian Gutierrez (Minot State), was waived by the Broncos a couple days ago.

Lions second-year player Shane Zylstra (Minnesota State) did survive the final round of cuts and I believe gets the 4th string TE spot (didn't know there was such a thing). He did see a little action last season.

Unfortunately, his brother Brandon Zylstra (Augustana, Concordia-Moorhead in DIII) was cut by the Panthers on the same day.

Former Edinboro (then grad transfer to Toledo) OL Vitaliy Gurman made it all the way through camp with Kansas City before being cut. He signed to the PS with the Raiders.

Yes, I know Commerce is now Division 1, but they were Division 2 when Kohou played for the Lions.

West Florida safety D’Anthony Bell has moved up depth chart to second team safety for Browns and with injuries to two secondary starters it looks like he will play special teams and likely snaps on defense in road opener vs Panthers. Defensive coordinator says Bell has four leaf clover attribute of always being around and making plays on ball and that Bell fires up team whenever he makes big plays. Bell also won the “bone collector” award for the defense over the preseason for collecting the most turnovers on the defense.

Yes, I know Commerce is now Division 1, but they were Division 2 when Kohou played for the Lions.

He had a good game for Miami against New England yesterday. 3 solo tackles including one for a loss on 3rd and short. Made a beautiful play to break up a 4th down pass in the 4th quarter, then forced a fumble on the Pats next drive to ice the game.
