  • D2 College Football Imperialism: 2022

    https://i.imgur.com/tDWgqpb.jpg

As a refresher on the concept of college football imperialism maps, each county is initially owned by the closest team. Whenever a team that owns land loses to a D2 opponent, the land they own goes to the team that beats them.

The initial map is of course similar to last year's initial map, with the addition of Post and Emory & Henry and the losses of Lindenwood, Stonehill, and Texas A&M Commerce, plus a few stadium location updates and corrections.

D2 only has two programs left in Florida. One's in Pensacola and the other in Jacksonville. That's a long distance. In between are Valdosta and Albany.

Southern Florida is someone's prize waiting to be picked up if they decide to make the jump to D2.

It seems notable that all five South Dakota teams are on the map.

Who thought we’d ever seen Southern Nazarene on the Imperialism Map?

The Black Hills Brawl has quite a bit as well.

Most of Minnesota is on the line in the Key to the City game. Some big rivalries in the Mount Rushmore State this weekend.

I legit HATE seeing so many Texas and Michigan schools in the Rocky Mountains.
