There are sports at GV which are not operating at the allotted maximum D2 scholarship amount. Baseball has never been at the full scholarship amount.

SR1 teams have had a huge fund raising advantage for a long time with teams getting free rides to the semis and have not capitalized on it. Do you really think it was easier for UNK to go from 18 schollies to near full funding while getting their arses stomped every week in the MIAA than for IUP to do it while skipping into the playoffs every year?

Its all self reported on what the school calls fully funded anyways. 36 Out of state scholarships would amount to what? 350k per semester just for tuition alone?

Playoff bids are for the ENTITLED, if they weren't every school would be awarded a birth. Not everyone gets to play for championships.They all have the same opportunity to fund raise and charge fees like every other school. They CHOSE not to.

If the state (KS) who was a laughing stock for starving academics and nearly going broke in an attempt to bring back trickle down, is doing a better job with collegiate funding than your state, you probably need to be taking a serious look at what's really going on.

It's just funny to see the irony in this conversation lol. Schools which choose not to and/or can't fund scholarships to the maximum allotted amount want other schools to spend MORE money to move UP, rather than those people realizing there's a much easier solution to their issue by just moving down, which saves them even more money lol.

It's implicit in their actions. You're not sanctioned by the NCAA to not allow the full 36, the only other reason is that you chose not to do what it takes to offer the full equivalencies.

I didn't say they were, and honestly don't know if they are. I know they work hard to fund raise (sometimes too hard in that they have alienated the locals,, etc.. in search of a buck) and have at times been nationally competitive.

The difference is, I'm not in here fighting to continue with a status quo that rewards teams for mediocrity.

You are literally saying they are fully funded.

Giving teams a playoff bid that didn't win their conference title is rewarding mediocrity as well.

This is who should have been in the playoffs this year......top seeded team gets the first week bye and that would have been either GV or Pitt State. These were your conference champions and shame on the Northern Sun for not having a title game. I only picked Minnesota State because they won the head to head with Bemidji.

So I'm not fighting for the status quo. I'm just fighting against the Midwestern attempt to make sure they get the majority of bids in a "fixed" playoff system while discriminating against conferences for nothing more than not having as much money.
