Agree. Any proposal where the number of total playoff qualifiers decreases is DOA.

I maintain that the main problem with the current system is not the regionality by itself, but the rigidity by which the regionality is applied. There's no need to swing all the way to an FCS system, just allow for a few "wild card" selections and arrange the bracket based on teams' actual locations, not just their conference.

The only way this gets solved is by compromise. If any program isn't satisfied by a compromise, FCS is always an option.
What a terribly defeatist attitude to always go with "go to FCS if you're good" instead of demanding your own school do better than the bare minimum qualifications. D2 schools can offer 36 scholarships. But then when teams actually offer 36 scholarships and your own school offers not 36 scholarships, you want them to move out so your own school doesn't have to improve on anything.

I'm sure the good D2 football schools would love to move to FCS if that's all it was. It's too bad it takes tens/hundreds of millions to move the entire athletics program. It's much more feasible for the bare minimum D2 programs who cry about funding to just go D3.

          Lowest-funded public school in Michigan.

If the PSAC schools don't have the money to offer the full 36 scholarship allotment the NCAA allows, then drop scholarships all together, play D3, and save money.

Yet GV gets all of its scholarship money from the state taxpayers. Isn’t that why the private schools fled the GLIAC because they couldn’t print coupons fast enough to get the players the Meatchicken public’s could offer with actual money.

It’s cute how the haves who get the money easily lecture schools that have to work hard to raise what they do…

Yet that is the best fix. I also think less spots forces schools to up their fund raising game..at least the schools that don’t just get the money handed to them by taxpayers. Why bother getting more money when you get a bid funding the current level and make the playoffs do you tell the alumni how great you are…I can see that flying on a few Pee Sack campuses not named IUP.

The playoffs should be a reward…and the regular season needs to feel more do or die.

Im totally fine with a playoff field comprised only of conference champions.

Please provide evidence for this claim. The vast majority of schools pay their athletic scholarships through student fees and private fundraising. Why would GV be any different?

Please provide the the percentage of GVs budget that comes from the State. I'll give you a hint... it's not all that much (less than 25%...much less.)

It’s what I heard. Just like Trump would say he heard something….so it has to be true.
Can the haves use their state appropriations for scholarships? We cannot in PA.

So you mean Pitt State students going into hock with student loans are paying fees so the foosball players can get almost a free ride? For real?

It is against the law in Kansas for tax payer funds to be used for athletics. So the money our universities and community colleges receive through property tax levies are used for administrative, infrastructure and instruction.

According to the university, no student athlete receives a full ride athletic scholarship. Of course the way they break it down, some may be getting a high 90% equivalency.

The tuition for IUP is twice what Pitt is, the enrollment is similar. So what is your alma mater paying for?

This is just blatantly lying lol.

GV doesn't even offer the full allotment of scholarships in all sports lol.

How much are students being charged in fees in their tuition to fund athletics? I always thought that just covered the student’s costs to attend sports games. We just showed our student card to get into games.

They do pay their profs a little better. Everyone pays better than Pitt.
