On that note, NAIA Bacone, which has been on shaky ground for at least a few years now, recently filed for bankruptcy and is suspending operations for one year. This presumably means all athletics are gone, at least for the time being, as they've been scrubbed from their conferences website.Originally posted by laker View PostThis didn't take long to start the "new" year. Which conference? Bacone has been out of the RRAC for a while.Originally posted by Finchwidget View Post

I would hardly call that a conference (not meant to sound snarky to you, but rather the NAIA/the old NCAA ECACs). I like the access it gives these independent teams. It is interesting that they had a website. I don't forsee Bacone lasting without major tribal support. There honestly could be if enough outreach is achieved. I am against gambling in all forms, but the tribes use the revenue for a lot of good for the state. Muskogee isn't a backwater compared to other towns in Oklahoma. It has a sizeable population and has a turnpike that connects it with Tulsa and I 40.Originally posted by laker View PostGo Bronchos!

Yeah, I use the term "conference" lightly here. Not really a better name for it though without getting technical-- as you mentioned, they DO have their own website, along with their own conference championships, players of the week, and all-conference teams, so if the shoe fits...Originally posted by UCObluejay View Post

Do they have standings or a scheduling alliance? I would call it more of an "association" but that also is problematic when you have conferences (MIAA) for starters that have that title.Originally posted by Finchwidget View Post
