Surprisingly the game of the week in the CIAA is WSSU v. Livingstone. Both teams are 5-2 and 3-1 in conference. The winner of this game keeps their conference championship game hopes alive.

Harding @ Ouachita Baptist - big enough game I think it should have at least a mention on College Game Day.

Grand Valley @ Saginaw Valley - GVSU has owned this series but with Ferris looming next week they can't look past Saggy who is playing well this year.

Fort Hays @ Pittsburg - desperation game for FHSU who have been playing well since they switched QBs two games ago. Both teams rely heavily on defense, should be a rock-em-sock-em game

Southern Arkansas vs Henderson - neutral site game for Murphy USA Classic with big implications for potential playoff spot for both.

West Alabama @ Delta - desperation game for Delta. West AL gets through this one they have pretty easy sailing the rest of the schedule to the playoffs.

Charleston @ Frostburg - two undeafeted teams going at it. Frostburg schedule has been light but still at 6-0 it's kind of crazy they aren't getting any attention.

Wingate @ Limestone - probably a playoff elimination game. Limestone won for the first time in the series last year, can they keep it going?

Central Missouri @ Northwest Missouri - MIAA pride game, these teams were picked #1 and #3 in the preseason, neither performing up to expectations. Going to be interesting which one gets up for this game and which team losses to finish in the bottom half of the conference.

Nebraska-Kearney @ Missouri Western - MIAA pride game 2; UNK was picked to finish last in the conference Mo west 6th; both playing a bit better than expectations, I'm interested to see if they finish in the top half of the conference and the winner of this has the best shot at it.

In the GLIAC the game of the week is Davenport (3-2) vs MTech (4-1) - Davenport lost a 1 pt game to CMU and then this past week to GVSU while Tech lost in OT game to Bemidji St - its up in the UP, so a long bus ride for Davenport but the Panthers are definitely much more tested then the host school but Tech is always tough at home - kickoff at noon on FloSports - should be good

The Sickos Committee did a brief write up about Harding a couple nights ago on Twitter. What they're doing is insanely impressive.

The Ashland vs Findlay game will probably decide the GMAC championship.

    Lone Star has two games:

Angelo State hosts TAMU-Kingsville - Both teams are 3-0 in the Lone Star and the winner has a shot at competing for a playoff spot.

Central Washington hosts UT-Permian Basin - PB has slipped up in conference play but have a lot of talent even though their starting QB is out with a broken leg. CWU is 3-0 in the Lone Star and wants a playoff spot.

The Northeast 10 has Bentley at Assumption - Both teams are chasing New Haven in the NE10, Bentley lost to New Haven and Assumption has yet to play New Haven.

In the MIAA, an under the radar game that might be great is MW and UCM.

    Killer QB vs. QB killers

Lighter slate of big games this week

Northwest Missouri @ Central Oklahoma - Dorrell Bowl is easily the best game this week. Coach Dorrell looks like he's got UCO humming the way NW of old was. Northwest isn't to be intimidated though and after a slow 0-2 start seem to have regained their championship caliber presence.

Pittsburg @ Nebraska-Kearney - playoff elimination game. Pitt has a long road trip as they enter a tough second half of games on the schedule. Kearney has shown they can hang with the best.

Delta @ West Florida - these two have played in the regular season and playoffs the past two years (4 games). West FL has had to face tough opponents and even tougher weather to get to this point; Delta state probably doesn't care. Should be a good one.

It's funny - despite the score, Augustana gave SDSU a heckuva time - more than most FCS programs could, yet they're on the bubble for the DII playoffs.

    College football is funny sometimes.

Slippery Rock @ Indiana (PA) - historical rivals both 4-0; easily the best game in the nation this week.

Central Missouri @ Fort Hays - Homecoming/Oktoberfest weekend in Hays. Central MO hasn't won there in 12 years, they need to keep pace in the conference and FHSU is in desperation mode to win out and is changing starting QBs to shake things up.

Ouachita @ Southeastern Oklahoma - Homecoming game in Durant where they have a good history of winning on those weekends, but usually not the caliber OBU brings to town. But I think it still worth keeping an eye on how close this game goes. SE OK was ahead of Southern Arkansas into the fourth and an early lead on Henderson before losing both those games.

MN-Duluth @ Augustana - Desperation game for Augustana to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Winston Salem @ Virginia Union - good CIAA matchup this weekend, been a long time since W Salem has been competitive, looking forward to seeing this test against VUU.

Nice call. I was chastised for saying as much in the GAC forum.
