  • Major court ruling about eligibility

Yesterday a judge ruled that that a student athlete starting at the NJCAA level doesn’t count towards NCAA eligibility. This will cause a major disruption at the D2 level.

Technically - the ruling only applies to Diego Pavia. Though it sets a pretty big precedent that's sure to be exploited.

The reality is, Wizzmaster knew he wouldn't make it in the NFL so he wanted to stick around to get an extra year of NIL money before hitting the workforce. If this becomes a "thing" (which it inevitably will), JUCO football would hypothetically function like junior hockey - a sub-college preparation level.

It doesn't set binding precedent at all. It's persuasive at best.

I never claimed to be a law expert and was just regurgitating what I read somewhere else.

I think regurgitating is about 99% of this board, so you're good.

I'm good at it, that's for sure.
