2025 Non-Conference Games

I wonder how many SAC schools will try to pickup games to make up for losing a conference game with Limestone. I looks like Valdosta State has a bye the same week LR was scheduled to play at Limestone.

I tracked down the CC/SIAC announcement and it doesn't say it has to be #3/#4 participating. It also says, "In addition, any institution that is scheduled to compete in a postseason competition or has a prior obligation will not be eligible to participate."

So it does. I just assumed they'd automatically send #3 and #4, and I completely glazed over the part about prior obligations. My mistake!

Curiously, Ferrum also has a non-conference game against Concord on Week 11, but it's contingent on them NOT making the inaugural Conference Carolinas championship game, which would be the same weekend. CC already announced a scheduling alliance with the SIAC where each conferences third and fourth place teams will square off Week 11 though, so this makes it seem a bit like Ferrum is anticipating finishing in the bottom 3 of the CC standings. Not super encouraging.

FCS Morgan State's schedule release has them playing Miles Week 4 in the Circle City Classic in Indianapolis. The problem here though is that Miles already had 2 non-conference games lined up, so either they only plan on playing 7 conference games, or one of those 3 non-conference games is gonna get dropped. I'll keep an eye out for what ends up happening, but I'm putting my money on the latter choice.

Also, the Conference Carolinas commissioner explicitly confirmed that CC will be holding a conference championship game Week 11. Why they're doing this with only 7 teams is beyond me, but this does put them at only 4 non-conference games per team, instead of the 5 I initially had them at, so it's been updated to reflect that

Just amazes me how Lincoln (CA) is able to score these games. There are enough D2 schools looking for games and even cupcake ones before going this route.

There's three teams that have scheduled Lincoln (CA) so far: West Alabama, Northeastern State, and Texas A&M-Kingsville. It's really hard to schedule an OOC game for weeks beyond September, so I don't blame UWA for scheduling them later in the season. Northeastern State has a similar issue, but they're also trying to rebuild, and Lincoln is one of the few teams they actually have a shot at beating. Kingsville scheduling them in Week 1 when almost every other D2 school would've been available is pretty inexcusable though
