I was the "random" D2 sighting, for once!

I live in a D1 college town about 60 miles from my D2 alma mater - they play each other several times a year, mostly for exhibition or scrimmage type stuff. This was a regular season soccer game and I ended up running into a coworker who was surprised to see me decked out in the colors of the D2 school. (Kind of assumed that if you live here, you went to the local school).

Okay - maybe doesn't count the same, but I still thought it was funny.

Yeah. I think 760 wins all time. (117 years)
All time % is only around 67.

Hillsdale at 133 years is third with most wins at 670. Tuskegee is second with more that 700.Pitt State is numero uno.

I cam across this one today while bargain shopping. Right now, woot.com (they're owned by Amazon) is selling MSU-Mankato mugs:

I had a second Kutztown customer last week and a Tuskegee about a month ago. It's amazing to see so many from all across the country in one place.

One of my students (I teach in east-central PA) was wearing a UNC Pembroke pin - he recently applied there.

Met another PSAC alum this weekend, this time from Indiana. He was older and so pleased to have his school recognized and to be able to talk about it that he shook my hand.

After meeting all these people I now know why a local bar became a Steelers hangout. There are a lot of former PA residents here.

I was that "random guy" this weekend. I was up in Chicago for TFCon and the Kane County/Chicago Toy Show and I was wearing my Pitt State hat all over town. Had one guy ask me if it was a Brad Pitt reference and another started talking to me about the University of Pittsburgh, which I quickly corrected him. He was like: There's a Pitt in Kansas? Never heard of it.
many years ago, the summer before I was an incoming freshman at Pitt my family took a vacation to Colorao and we were on the incline railway up pikes peak, the family across the aisle from us had a guy wearing a Pitt hat and I talked to him. He had just graduated that year. He told me all about the best places to eat and which bars were the best etc. Like the old taco place I don't think is there anymore that we all used to go to after the bars. You didn't eat there unless you were inebriated. And the distinction between Mooremans, JB's, 505, and Bootleggers.
In 2013 I was on an Alaskan cruise and the couple in the cabin next door were Pitt alumni and their daughter was starting that fall.

One of the best "out of place" though is on the Netflix Show Sex Education. There's a girl who is seen multiple times wearing a Northwest Missouri State sweatshirt.

Tim Allen would wear small Michigan college sweat shirts in Home Improvement back in the day.
