While catching up with "The Pitt" before my surgery there was a patient character who was a professor at Point Park during season 2.

On episode 5 of American Ninja Warrior season 18 they featured an athlete who is on the Barton College Flag Football team.

There was a dude walking around campus here in Emporia today in a Kutztown Golden Bears sweatshirt. Didn't get a chance to talk to him.

Pulled in at a restaurant behind some folks that had a Pitt State Gorillas license plate bracket on the vehicle in Holland, Mi. Turned out to be a young couple that had moved to the area for work.

Yesterday I was in Sam's Club in West Palm Beach, Florida and saw a college aged, or recently graduated, woman wearing a Wayne State shirt. I mentioned knowing of Wayne State because of my interest in D2 Football. She smiled/giggled and looked at the other two similar aged people with her and said it was her sister's shirt she pulled out of the closet. Her sister went to WSU.

In the Taylor Center for the Southwest MN St at MSU-Mankato games- Lenoir Rhyne sweatshirt.

I'm not sure if the UNI track jacket that I saw soon afterwards counts- Cedar Falls it isn't all that far away from Mankato.

I always love going to games and seeing the randomness - not D2 but I was at USD for a football game several years back and there was a couple dressed head to toe in USF gear. Not Sioux Falls, but South Florida.

Handful of stories I've heard of people changing flights at airports way far away both wearing SMSU gear.

The local Ace Hardware store always has several piles of surplus/sale t-shirts displayed on a couple tables…$3 apiece.All colors and sizes. I have been known to buy a couple here and there to replenish my supply of t-shirts which I wear daily. So…..I’m scavenging thru the pile of XL’s and what do I find?…..a dozen or so Texas A&M Commerce Lions t-shirts. Now, A&M Commerce has been transitioning to D1 FCS since 2022 but they did win the D2 Natty in 2017 I think. Anyway, maybe this doesn’t seem strange to you or relevant to the current topic until you realize that the Ace Hardware that I found these t-shirts in is in Allendale, Mi……Home of Grand Valley State. Random D2 sighting?? Well, sort of.

Surprising I traveled to Phoenix over the New Year wearing my Pitt State Cap and every airport, restaurant, race I attended people commited about liking my cap or saying GO PITT STATE pretty damn cool.
