Good point, I guess even the almighty Ivy is susceptible to change. Looking forward to seeing how the Ivy champion fares against the rest of the cream of the FCS crop.

Go Big Green! I've visited Dartmouth and everyone I met there was nice, unlike some other Ivy League schools I've visited.

They do. But not the Academies. And obviously you are not transferring out of the military. I suppose you could get a hardship discharge or something like that, but if you get that chances are you are not going to play athletics somewhere else because of it.

Yeah, that's the reason why I was wondering. It will be very interesting to see how the Ivy League does in the postseason, and not having NIL money for their athletes, if that puts them at a significant disadvantage. As for competitiveness, will they be like Region 4 in D2, or, closer to like how Navy, and more recently, Army in FBS, in which they occasionally field very competitive teams? Will be interesting to see.

The benefit of the Academies (and Ivy League schools) are you going there for a great education and the prestige that goes along with it. Pretty much any graduate from those schools can write their own ticket in life. So a little short term cash isn't their objective. Students at those schools are playing for the long game.

Yup - D2 as well. Not sure how much trickles down to DIII, but I'm sure it's a factor at some of the bigger schools.

You actually can transfer out of a service academy if you do so before your junior season. Army's best running back from last season, Kanye Udoh, transferred to Arizona State for '25.
