The NAIA national championship game between Grand View and Keiser is an intriguing game. It is a matchup of 1) the #1 and #2 teams in NAIA, 2) a rematch of last year's championship game (Grand View won in 2024 by a 35-7 score), and 3) the last two NAIA national champions. Keiser is making its fourth straight championship game appearance and is trying to win its second NAIA national title, while Grand View is appearing in its third national title game in the last five years and is going for its third NAIA championship; they also won in 2013.

This game will be streamed on the NAIA Network and the Urban Edge Sports Network. More information about the game can be found on the 2025 NAIA Football National Championship page.

The D2 national championship game between Ferris State and Harding has some remarkable similarities to the NAIA championship game in terms of being a game between arguably the top two current programs in the classification. As many people who follow D2 football know, it is a matchup of 1) the #1 and #2 teams in D2 and 2) the last two national champions. The two teams also played in the national quarterfinals last season, and eventual champion Ferris State routed defending champion Harding by a 41-7 score. The Bulldogs from Michigan are attempting to win their fourth D2 national championship in the last five years, also prevailing in 2021 and 2022, while the Bisons from Arkansas are gunning for their second D2 national title.

As is mentioned in the schedule above, the game will be televised on ESPN2. You can read more about the championship game matchup in this link.

Fun Fact: Unseeded Illinois State is the first team ever to win four road games in a row in the FCS playoffs. I'm looking forward to the Championship Final vs #2 Montana State on January 5th in Nashville. 🏈 Go Redbirds!

I saw them beat SDSU in the regular season - obviously the Jacks not having Chase Mason kinda upended them pretty bad, but Illinois State had a scoring pace through the first quarter that I'd never seen before and likely won't again.

I wasn't sure if they were "good" and SDSU was "bad" or if ISU was just fortunate to play a downtrodden Jackrabbit squad, but it looks like they are very much in the "good" category (I don't follow FCS so I had no idea).

I'm a long time Jacks fan and they had a rough season with tranfer$ and injuries, but the unseeded Redbirds warmed up at the right time and barely made the playoffs. And they've been ON FIRE ever since! I hope they've got one more victory in them. I love a good underdog story.

The preseason situation with the loss of a player didn't help either - that was pretty hard on them. I think Montana State is going to take it, but those boys at ISU should be proud of what they put together.

Illinois State tried to make it a game before half. Montana State gave em the ol’ Lee Corso

Gee a title game where the field has a championship Game logo midfield and team names painted in the end zones .

Not a title game with the high school logos still on the field….

                        NCAA …do better for D2.

Great game but I was hoping the Redbirds would win.

Miami beat Ole Miss 31-27 in the Semi-Final. I'm not a Hurricanes fan but they've proven that they belong in the FBS playoffs. Eat crow Notre Lame whiners!
