2026 Non-Conference Games

I agree. Just from looking at the work Finchwidget has done there are definitely some possibilities for Valdosta State to fill out their schedule.

Games we know on VSU's 2026 schedule:

Aug. 27 vs. Emory & Henry (SAC)
Sep. 12 at. Fayetteville State (CIAA)
Sep. 19 at. UNC-Pembroke (CC)
Oct. 24 vs. Shorter (CC)
Oct. 31 at. West Alabama (GSC)
Nov. 7 vs. North Greenville (CC)
Nov. 14 at. Delta State (GSC)


Open weeks that coincide with VSU open dates:

Week 1: Lincoln (Mo.), William Jewell, Erskine, and Monroe (NY)
Week 5: Erskine, Monroe (NY)
Week 6: Lincoln (Mo.), Bentley, Saint Anselm, Delta State, Northeastern State (if they drop the game with UWF)
Week 7: Monroe (NY)

I know Monroe is transitioning from JUCO so they wouldn't count towards D2 playoff eligibility but would add an extra game on the schedule.

I think what would make sense would be for Northeastern State to drop that West Florida game since they already have 2 FCS game scheduled.

The best Way to go would be.

9/5: Valdosta State at Northwest Missouri
10/10: Northeastern State at Valdosta State

Northeast-10 schools are notorious for releasing their schedules later than most programs in D2 for some odd reason.

Also, unless I missed something, Northwood is only at 10 games.

Northwood is opening at Wayne State. Northwood posted about it on their socials, and it's on Wayne States schedule, but not on Northwoods for whatever reason.

And yes, between that, the non-conference games against each other, and typically not playing a full 11 game schedule, the NE10 schools have been a pain whenever I make these threads lol
