    A couple notes:
    • I have yet to see explicit confirmation that Monroe will join the NE-10 for football. I put them there for now because that's what all signs are pointing to, but if it turns out they're an independent or something, I'll update accordingly.
    • I decided not to explicitly list every teams open date because I think especially this early on, it impedes readability of the post. Every conference has their expected number of non-conference games beneath their name, so if a team under a conference doesn't have that many, its safe to assume they have some open dates.

The GAC are the only silo left. Hopefully they'll dump it soon.

No chance unless they let the Okie schools bolt and form their own conference.

State of Oklahoma keeps wanting to meddle and mandate the OK schools form their own conference, if that every passes it would force the GACs hand and probably force some sort of absorption to the other conferences for the Arkansas Schools.

It would make sense to absorb the remaining GSC schools and have a non conference schedule but that isnt likely to happen either.

i seem to recall that no new division II conferences can be created.

That's what I was thinking as well. I thought the cap was at 24 conferences, but with the merger of the Heartland Conference into the Lone Star Conference could, in theory, create an opening for a potential new conference in the future.

Also if the GSC dissolves, then that would be the opening for the Oklahoma conference to form.

All these are hypotheticals and are less than 1%.
