I actually like the idea of an overtime adjustment to lessen the reward/punishment for those games on the grounds that overtime football isn’t real football, but I’m not sure what numbers would be ideal in order to avoid a Bettman Point scenario.

Honestly in 2025 it was pretty easy in SR4 to seed the teams and know who 5-7 were. It was that last playoff spot that had the debate. UTPB did have the overall numbers and likely ended up the better choice but you felt for Western Oregon since there was a provision in the past where you could flip teams next to each other in head to head. I think what "saved" UTPB was there were several metrics and not all of them had UTPB/Western Oregon side by side. I will be interested to see how this new system handles the GAC silo if Harding comes back to the pack with the likes of Ouachita Baptist. Also all LSC schools will play at least 10 D2 games so that shouldnt be an issue for Western Oregon this time in 2026.

I’m somewhat surprised that the all of the Fall sport committees simply opted to use a 0.25/0.75 “dial” setting for W%/SOS, in contrast to the slightly wider spread across D3. Did they want a few seasons of data before they each individually begin tweaking things?

So no more regional rankings, head to head, and regional selection committees?

Is there still automatic qualifiers for conference champions?

Looks like NPI will be released weekly?

Hey Brandon. Good to see you back around posting and all is well.

I am 99.9% confident the AQ stands.

My interest is if/how things will be handled when a team only plays 8 D2 games against another team that plays 11 D2 games.

I will look at inkblot's link and maybe that might answer a lot of questions I have.

                    That is correct.

EDIT: I misunderstood who this was directed at. Buffalo/Islander Alum Yes, sorry I hadn't answered that question.

Pretty sure B was replying to Buffalo Islander since he started by addressing "buf"
