  • Why didn’t Walsh Univ make a coaching change?

The program is a mess right now, and located perfectly for quality recruiting, so this is a very desirable job.

anyone have any info? Would have guessed they would have been the first GMAC school looking for a new coaching staff, evidently they’re content with 1-10 seasons.

I think it more has to do with the changes around Walsh. I know their AD recently left, and they are trying to roll out sprint football (and another sport or two). Simply, in times of big changes, a coach can protect their job just by having a big roster size and keeping kids eligible.

      Program is in complete shambles…

Let’s be honest, the staff has proven over the last 4-5 years that they CAN’T get it done on the field..and with no one (full time AD) willing the pull the trigger, it’s almost grand larceny.

The players need to stand up and demand they make a change or else the same thing will happen next year…

It’s sad…feel bad for the players…they deserve a better college football experience than what they are getting.

Hope they get it turned around as it does seem like a location that could pull in some local talent and be competitive. Hope to all the Walsh supporters they can change something or for the uppers at the university to want a little more out of the program.

As someone who was in the program in the last 4 years, it's complete dysfunction. the coaching staff is horrid and the college itself is insanely expensive, making it harder for them to retain guys not on scholarship. there was plenty of guys who were starters this past season who received zero scholarship. it also would help if they made any change in terms of the offensive scheme as we would go entire drives running the same play 3 times and then being forced to punt and it seems that was also the case for this season.
