  • UNC Pembroke Rolling!

Week 2 and UNC Pembroke continued it's domination on both sides of the ball as they rolled over West Virginia State 48 -21. The good news for the Brave's opponents has been UNC Pembroke's Coach's compassion in sending in backups early to keep scores closer than the actual games being played. Most of their lofty stats are being dominated by UNC-P's Juniors (including their QB) Sophomores and Freshmen.

The undefeated Braves travel for their 3rd straight week to face the undefeated University of Charleston this Saturday in what should be great game.

Great win, and even more impressive when you consider that as late as Thursday afternoon, UNCP was still preparing to be at home against Wesleyan. Due to cancellations around the league, this game was scheduled about as late as it possibly could have been. It was nearly too late to pull it off, so pretty remarkable that all parties were able to make it work.

Not surprising, I'm sure UNCP came into this league since it is the easiest way to the playoffs for them. I don't blame them, the rest of the conference needs to up their game and be better competition for them. Don't let them cakewalk to the playoffs every year.

The upcoming University of Charleston vs UNC-Pembroke this Saturday should be a nice barometer as to just how good the teams really are.

2-0 is better than 0-2...Which is were UNCP's first opponent Glenville finds themselves after getting pasted 45-0 by UC!

UNC-Pembroke, way out of sink with to many turnovers and penalties, fell to the well prepared Charleston team this week.

Charleston now has the inside track to be the MEC South representative in the MEC Championship game. Looks like the season closing contest with Concord will determine if UNCP finishes second or third in the MEC South.
