Probably by agreeing to travel to Duvall-Rosier Field. VULCANS won back to back in '05-'06 and should be able to get off to a good start here.
It's a fairly unique stadium down there. All the fans sit together on one side. There are no bleachers behind the visiting team.
I'm not sure you could find a closer non-conference game. Cal to Fairmont is a real quick drive.
Going back to the Cal games, PSAC teams have had no trouble winning down there. IUP smacked them there in the playoffs a few years ago and I think East Stroudsburg even got a win there.
Extra interesting factor for Thursday's '21 season opener at the newly resurfaced Duvall-Rosier Field....Ida's coming. Mon-Wed looks like a fairly constant thunderstorm/rain event. Probably little or no effect, but just out of curiosity does anyone know what heavy rain does to traction on a newly laid field? Presumably drainage was factored in and there doesn't appear to be any streams nearby, but who knows. Time will tell.
VULCANS made this game somewhat closer than it should have been with bad Special Teams and Offense. Defense holding FALCONS to one score is impressive. I couldn't believe FSU went for a 46yd FG in the 4th qtr when a Hail Mary had as much chance of succeeding and would give up the ball at the same location.
