Watched the WLU spring game. Kind of what you'd expect from a 2-9 team. Couple of take aways:
Ohio State transfer RB Rashid Sesay looked good.
Victor Valley CC transfer QB Kole Meisman looked good.
The HC said that they would be active in the post spring practice transfer market.

Amedro and Eddie Hills part Deux? Just need a stud H-back/TE like Travis and the glory days are back!Originally posted by boatcapt View PostWatched the WLU spring game. Kind of what you'd expect from a 2-9 team. Couple of take aways:

Hahaha...I certainly wouldn't go that far. After all they were "playing" against WLUs defense which has never been good even way back when WLU was good!Originally posted by Ram040506 View Post

You forgot the WR tandem of Renard Stevens and Almonzo Banks! While Amedro was the straw that steered the drink, Hills, Banks, Stevens and Travis were pretty good in their own right.

Was a lot of great talent on that offense. I remember sneaking out of there with a victory in 2006. We were stunned as a defense that had only allowed 13 pts through 8 games that year, then to give up 32 and needing to force a failed 2 pt to get away with a win. Was a great offense, and set up their run the next few years following.Originally posted by boatcapt View Post

It has always amazed me that an offense that depends so much on having a great QB is so totally inept at recruiting them. Probably the only decent one was Dakota Conwell and he was effectively a LB playing QB...decidedly un-WLU like!!Originally posted by Ram040506 View Post

LOVE the preseason "position assessments"..."Deepest group of QB's I've ever had." I'd settle for one that doesn't throw INT's and completes more than 50% of his passes.
I fear I was looking at the season through rose colored glasses when I projected 3 wins.

Yeah, when I saw that statement I thought to myself "Why would you need a deep group of QB's", lol. With that if you had a true #1 QB the 3rd or 4th players on the depth chart would've just transferred. Nope, all those players are still here because they aren't impressed by each other, lol. They all have a chance!Originally posted by boatcapt View PostLOVE the preseason "position assessments"..."Deepest group of QB's I've ever had."
