They all have a chance!
At least we're playing complimentary football...our offence and defense are equally bad!

Of course in today's age, there is probably some collection of "advanced stats" that say WLU is actually a good team... Don't let pittly little "old" stats like the score on the score board fool you into believing WLU is a bad team. Our turnover to yards per carry (TYPC...TIP'cie) is better than most D1 P5 schools which PROVES we are good!!!

I went to one of their prospect camps last year and you could tell why they have no success. Sad haven’t been to a game in like 6 years now but would love to

Yeah, in this day and age I'm not sure how your offense and defense can be equally bad!! I know it's highly unlikely, but if fans stop going to these games (like WL has sellouts anyway, lol), maybe change could happen. I haven't attended a football game in 5 years now and from the looks of things it may be 5 more.

In the past (long past), WLU was able to recruit individual talent but they were rarely able to develop players or get these talented individual players to play as a cohesive unit (the whole better than the sum of the individual parts). Over time, the ability to recruit individually talented players seems to have dried up and the few we do get soon depart in the transfer portal. Not many Zach Amedro's, Renard Stevens, Darren Banks, Almonzo Banks, Derrick Evans, Kavon Calhoun, Clay Beeler, Ryan Travis, or Eddie Hills gracing West Family Stadium Mondo Turf over the last 15 years.

This is a program that has not finished above 500 since 2014 and has finished above 500 only twice in the last 15 years. I don't know of any metric where that could be defined as winning or even as a middling team. It is the very definition of failure.

Some will be tempted to blame COVID and the transfer portal process for WLU's football problems. While they certainly didn't make it easier, we need to remember that WLU football has been a clown show for over 15 years now with no end in sight. The blame falls squarely on the coaching staff who is responsible for recruiting the players, coaching them Monday through Friday and game planning on Saturday with an equal measure of blame falling on multiple Athletic Directors, school Presidents and Boards of Directors.

WLU Football is a near perfect example of what happens when your leadership has zero oversight or expectation of success. How much money has been pissed away over the last 15 years on WLU football with zero accountability??

"This is a program that has not finished above 500 since 2014", let that sink in for everyone! What administration would allow a head coach to keep his job with that type of output? You can keep him in the program as an "advisor" (I don't want him anywhere near the program to be honest), to save face and soften the blow of the firing. But please do something!!!!!

Sadly and obviously, the whishes of fans, alumni and donors falls on deaf ears. University leadership has proven time and time again that they don't care about what anyone thinks. The HC will coach until HE decides that he doesn't want to coach any more.

It’s definitely money laundering or something else malicious. There’s no other explanation for it. He’s stealing money from the university for nothing in return

42-14 Seton Hill over WLU early in the 4th. Our QB has thrown TWO TD passes ..of course he's also thrown 2 ints and fumbled 3 times...to SETON HILL...

                  Let that sink in...

                  Sigh,.................

I know it's early, but we are on our way to the target goal of being winless! WL will probably be favored against 1 remaining team on their schedule (looking at you WV Wesleyan), because other then that they won't come within 2 touchdowns of anyone else! At this point WL might want to explore changing QB's or running the Wing T offense, it will help shorten the game and hide the lack of talent WL has.

Changing QB or offensive styles would require equal measures of self awareness and willingness to admit they are wrong. This HC doesn't seem to suffer from EITHER of these. They will keep trotting out the same player and offense game after game after game and hope for different result.

Like I said previously, yes, we have a couple of games circled on our schedule...but those opponents also have US circled on THEIR schedule!

Yeah, I think it's kind of comical that the same teams that WL is circling on its calendar for wins, others are doing when they see WL on their schedule, lol. But seriously, let's start at the top and work our way down. Bring in a new staff of coaches and assistants, next start recruiting and finding some talent (starting with a serviceable QB), put that talent together and all WL alumni and fans are asking for is just be COMPETITIVE! We probably won't come close to making the D2 playoffs or even winning a conference championship, but can we at least go into these games with a punchers chance? Not the "how many points will WL lose by in this game" contest. You have to change the culture now of losing, because no athlete is going to want to come here with this dark cloud hanging over the program. Is it basketball season yet?

I think in college, the HC and staff are soooo important...maybe more important than the talent of the players. They can take a bad team talent wise and almost immediately make them decent or take a decent team and make them good. On the other side of the coin, we have a coach and staff they find a way to take a bad team talent wise and make them HORRIBLE! Year...after year...after year...

And I'm sorry, a good deal of the blame needs to be heaped on the Athletic Directors AND School Presidents. And that includes the CURRENT ones. The abject, ball numbing failure of WLU football is not a secret that they knew nothing about when they took those jobs. They have it in their power to stop this failure at any time but they choose to do nothing while money is squandered and the losses pile up.

It's going to take one head strong and determined President to fire a long tenured coach who has brought a considerable amount of money to the university. I'm with you though Boat, someone from the top has got to say that's enough, we need to go in a new direction!!! The question is who and when...

Robert Morris 28 WLU 14. 0-3 on the season.

Up next is 2-0 Frostburg at Frostburg.

Maybe going 0-11 will finally result in a coaching change...but I doubt it.
