  • Keller at WVW

I just read that Keller has been hired as head coach at WVW.

Any chance he can return them to relevance, and how long has it been since they had a winning record?

His first year at Concord was 6-5. The previous season was 0-11. He should be able to turn it around if they give him the resources.

But will they? I believe that WVW is a very selective school. Meaning they don’t accept everybody. So he would have to really sell the program.

The bar for improvement is as low as it could be for any program. 1 win would double the amount of wins they've had since Covid (2020). 1 win a year would be huge improvement.

Surprisingly, they're not. In the last admissions cycle, they told the feds they accepted 95% of applicants. If 95% of applicants had a 3.75 GPA and 1300 SAT, that wouldn't concern me, but their average SAT is only 1020.

But they're Christian (not for everyone), private (likely going to be more expensive than state schools), and located in Buckhannon (which I don't think is that bad, but NOTHING around it). I believe Buckhannon is an easier recruiting tool than Glenville.
