Week 3 in the NE10 saw the first official week of league games and it was a good week for the favored teams, who all won.
The NE10 Pick'Em didn't see much movement, as most pickers got 3 or 4 correct. That's what happens when all the favorites win.
The recap from last week:
1. Assumption over Southern CT State 19-7 - Defense ruled the night in New Haven, and Assumption's ground game came through again.
2. New Haven over AIC 37-7 - Chargers play Nick Robins all the way at QB and it paid off with a couple long TD's to track star AJ Greene. That and the Chargers' defense kept AIC at bay.
3. Pace over Franklin Pierce 52-7 - This game was 12-7 in the first quarter, then Pace ran away with it.
4. Stonehill over St. Anselm 38-14 - Skyhawks were up 38-6 and weren't challenged at St. Anselm.
And the standings for the NE10 Pick'Em are:
For Week 4 in the NE10 there will be four league games. Stonehill has the week off and awaits AIC on Oct. 5.
Friday, Sept. 27:
1. New Haven (2-1, 1-0 NE10) at Bentley (0-2, 0-0), 7:00 PM - Falcons try to take advantage of the off week and succeed on both sides of the ball while the Chargers look to shut down another NE10 opponent.
Saturday, Sept. 28:
1. Franklin Pierce (1-2, 0-1) at Assumption (2-1, 1-0), 12:00 PM - Will the Greyhounds keep running past Franklin Pierce? How will the Ravens respond in their first-ever D2 road game? Ravens have given up just short of 50 points a game so far this season.
2. St. Anselm (0-3, 0-1) at Pace (2-1, 1-0), 12:00 PM - Setters try to win their third straight. Hawks have given up an avergae of 50 points per game so far.
3. Southern CT State (0-3, 0-1) at AIC (1-2, 0-1), 12:00 PM - Both teams looking for offense after only scoring 7 in their games last week.
Your picks are due at 7:00 PM on Friday, Sept. 27 - Good luck!
(Hopefully this week I won't have as many typos as I had last week! Many thanks to those who let me know about them.)
