Week 5 in the NE10 saw its first overtime game of the season with Assumption losing a four-touchdown lead to Bentley but still winning by blocking a potential game-tying field goal. There are two undefeated teams in conference and three with one loss. Here are each NE10 team's chances of ending up at the top of the league:
1. Assumption (4-1, 3-0 NE10) - Completely control their own destiny to win the league title.
2. Stonehill (3-1, 2-0) - Completely control their own destiny to win the league title.
3. New Haven (3-2, 2-1) - Need to win out and hope Bentley loses again.
4. Pace (3-2, 2-1) - Need to win out and hope New Haven loses again.
5. Bentley (1-3, 1-1) - Need to win out and hope Assumption loses twice.
6-9. AIC, Southern CT State, St. Anselm, and Franklin Pierce are still mathematically able to win the conference but need various combinations of wins and losses to move up the standings.
The NE10 Pick'Em has two leading at 21 correct and a few close behind.
The recap from last week:
1. Southern CT State 55-27 over Franklin Pierce - Ravens once again fall behind big in the first quarter as the Owls get their first win.
2. Assumption 45-42 over Bentley in overtime - Greyhounds lose a 42-14 lead but win in overtime after blocking a potential game-tying field goal.
3. Stonehill 31-13 over AIC - Stonehill finds themselves at the top of the league after a dominant win in Springfield.
4. Tiffin 55-6 over St. Anselm - Hawks take a non-conference trip to Ohio and lose to a top GMAC team. Props to St. Anselm for scheduling tough games out-of-conference, but they lost those two games by a combined score of 114-19.
