Week 8 - Stop the presses - St. Anselm has won THREE games in a row! The Hawks sweep the city of New Haven qith a win over Southern CT State and are now in a five-way tie for second place in the increasingly-complicated NE10. Not complicated - Assumption. The Greyhounds come back to beat Stonehill in double overtime and have first place all by themselves. Bentley lost a big lead against Pace but still won, and AIC wins their third of the year over Franklin Pierce.
And now the recap from last week:
1. AIC over Franklin Pierce 34-12 - Yellow Jackets use a strong running game to beat the Ravens.
2. St. Anselm over Southern CT State 25-24 - Hawks score a late Shawn Donovan touchdown to win their thrid straight.
3. Bentley over Pac 28-21- Bentley lost a 2-touchdown lead but still got the win.
4. Assumption over Stonehill 40-37 - Another candidate for NE10 game of the year, as an Assumption interception finally stopped Stonehill in he second overtime.
The NE10 Pick'Em has three people(inclduing last year's champ budman) leading at 27 correct and one person behind by one and one other person two behind.
And the standings for the NE10 Pick'Em are:
For Week 9 the NE10 is in league play with four games, all on Saturday, November 2. Assumption has the week off and will await New Haven next week.
Saturday, Oct. 26:
1. AIC (3-4, 2-3) at Pace (4-3, 3-2), 12:00 PM - Pace looks to stay near the top of the standings and the Yellow Jackets look to keep winning.
2. St. Anselm (3-5, 3-2) at Bentley (3-4, 3-2), 1:00 PM - Can St. Anselm win again?
3. Franklin Pierce (1-7, 0-6) at New Haven (4-3, 3-2), 1:00 PM - New Haven tries to avoid another trap game with Assumption on the schedule next week.
4. Southern CT State (2-6, 2-4) at Stonehill (4-3, 3-2), 1:00 PM - Stonehill needs a win to break their losing streak and stay near the top of the league, and the Owls also look to break their losing streak.
