  • AIC Josh Hamel had transferred to UNH.

Well it looks like New Haven got a pretty decent kicker Josh Hamel from AIC.

The last player they got from AIC might have been JuAn Williams- if Hamel is half as good as JuAn was, it’s a good pickup.

This is a good addition to the Chargers football family. After our kicker ended the season with injury, we didn't do to well with the backups.

It's definitely an upgrade than who we have on the current roster. I. Think he still have two more years of illegibility so it's a good addition.

UNH now has it's first transfer from UMass, a junior 6'1 200 DB Tanner Davis. Davis, during his junior season @ UMass, recorded 43 tackles, 21 solo, 3.0 tackles for loss and one sack. Starter and captain on all four special teams units. Played in all 12 games, and made two starting appearances. Thoughts?

UMass was awful, but he was an FBS level player, and it says a lot that they got him.

His dad is Joe Davis, former UNH WR in the early 90’s.

At least the kid had 3 years of playing experience so hopefully, that will help.

New Haven has two more D1 transfers from Stony Brook University, a junior QB Joshua Zamot and from Sacred Heart University, a senior WR Troy Holland.

Wow, there seems to be a trend that a lot of transfers to UNH during the last few years? The bad thing is many of these transfers have only one or two year of eligibility. Regardless, it's nice to have them on board to Chargers nation.

Question, is Dev Holmes graduating? He listed as a graduate student but I did not see him at the graduating seniors introductions during the last game.

New Haven has has one of the oldest teams in the nation the last 2-3 years. Lots of graduate transfers. Can't argue with the results, though.

The trend the last 2-3 years has been for D2 programs to recruit and get players with D1 offers. Look at Grand Valley State, Ferris State, and West Florida in particular - they don't really recruit "traditional" D2 athletes anymore.

I also notice that many D1, particular FCS schools, have a lot of their football players in the portal. I recently looked at school like Wagner college and it looks like 1/3 of the players are in the transfer portal. I don't know if this is a good thing for these kids, specially if they only have one year left of eligibility.
