Wow... that seems a little late to be making a coaching change...

Yup, about half way through Spring Ball.

Damn. Didn’t Bentley have a bunch of coaches leave right after the season?

Not good. Not good at all. Could set the program back a while.

That is up for debate. Regardless of what their web page says, there were only 2 full-time coaches left on staff. [ Reynolds and newly hired OC. ] ALL coaches from last year had already left.

EVERY assistant left the program. ONLY coach left was an OC that was just hired in March [RB coach from Harvard - Sajan Thakker].

Thakker was just named the Interim Head Coach. He has a coaching staff of ONE to finish Spring Ball.

What is going with Bentley coaching staff? Am I missing something? All coaches are gone except for one recently hired. Is Bentley trying to get rid of their football program?

Briefly, the Bentley assistant coaches started leaving in November. The last one left at least a month ago. They hired a new OC - Sajan Thakker RB coach at Harvard.

The last few weeks the coaching staff consisted of the HC and the new OC [and a part-time guy] This morning the AD told the team that Reynolds [HC] was done. This afternoon the AD announced that Thakker is now the Interim Head Coach pending a 'national search' for a new HC.

Don't think Bentley is trying to get rid of the program - but the school is not doing the program any favors. Makes one give some more thought as to the real reason for Bentley's previous HC's unexpected departure from the program. [Kavanaugh left Feb 2022]

It amazes me that this was a 7-3 team that with a few breaks had a shot at 10-0 following up on 9-2 the previous year. Seemed like they were on the way to having a shot at the playoffs every year and now this. Was Reynolds a bad hire, or is there something deeper going on? Noticed a soccer coach also left too.

Contradictory rumors coming out of Waltham. Some stories have that other coaches have been hired. Thakkar ran a complete Spring Ball practice schedule with 5/6 coaches on hand.

Bentley's website has never been known for being up to date

Thakkar walks into a pretty good situation as regards players. 8 returning starters on 'O' and 7 on 'D'.

A few questions come out of this entire mess.

First, with the new head coach only lasting 1 year and having been fairly successful in that season (7-3, 5-2 NE-10) and then the majority of assistance coaches leaving, the question is why did those assistant coaches leave so quickly.

Second, how long has this AD been in charge of the Athletic Department. Is this a new AD pushing his weight around, or something else.

Third, How have the numbers of players been impacted before, during and after the season the head coach was in charge and through the process of making the coaching changes?

This is a program that over the years has had moderate levels of success including two straight NCAA appearances about 20 years ago and a 3rd appearance in 2021.
