How's that one song from the 90s go ...

It's the end of the world as we know it ... It's the end of the world as we know it

I can already see a guy picking up a lady at the Edinboro Hotel ...

      "I'm a 4-year varsity letterman"

      "What sport?"

      "Madden"

I'm just so proud to see Harrisburg Science-Tech in on the ground floor of this next-wave phenomenon.

Interesting. I think it's pretty cool, but I do have a problem with it being called athletics. It's a fast changing world we live in, that's for sure.

This is real big in Vegas, LA, NY, and Philly. I have a friend that's a bit of a nerd. He's a gamer, but he has a favorite professional E-sports team that he roots for. They're based out of Philadelphia. He lives there now, so he's kind of gotten really into it. There's a big sports bar with giant televisions where you can go and watch them in their games each week. He's followed them out to LA before too. To each their own I guess.

I don't think this should be under Athletics. Probably Club Sports. Same with Wheelchair Basketball. Limit the Athletic Department to NCAA sports.

I could have been an All American at Mega Touch in college.

I'd say it would fall in the realm of Sports Entertainment. I suppose they all do "fast hands and fingers" striders in the e-game camp to get ready for the upcoming season. At some point in far distant future, high impact sports like American Football and Hockey will replace real humans with a team of video nerds controlling a virtual team - and they will become millionaires.

They can ring my doorbell when the Jacks Open pinball machine becomes an event.

I coulda been a contender, Rocky.

A lot of these schools are D3, private and tuition-driven institutions. That being said, it is an avenue/market to getting a certain demographic of student to come to school to 'compete' against others. I think that the PASSHE schools would be served well to take a page out of private schools in their targeting/recruitment of potential students. Everyone's chasing the same buck, may as well make yourselves competitive for their dollars.
