Re: Martin Signs with Rams Practice Squad

These guys make about $130K per year if they stay on the practice squad for a full season. Not bad. I hope they are smart enough to take some of that cash and re-invest in themselves through advanced degrees and/or professional certifications (e.g. CPA for an accounting major) if the low percentage climb to an NFL roster doesn't pan out.

If he sticks to the Rams throughout the season he also collects a regular player check each playoff game that the Rams are alive. Not bad at all as the playoff checks range from 25k for wild card rounds up to 111k for the Super Bowl Winners.

Martin claimed the PSAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award for the 2017-18 academic year. The West Mifflin graduate boasted a 3.56 cumulative GPA while majoring in safety management with a minor in administration.

He set the NCAA all-time, all-division career sacks record while shattering the DII record for tackles for loss. He claimed the PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Year the last three seasons while being the highest finisher in Harlon Hill history for a defensive lineman.

Martin received an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship as one of the 13 national finalists for the Campbell Trophy.

He was tabbed a PSAC Fall Top 10 honoree on two occasions while being named a PSAC Scholar-Athlete all four years of his career. He is a National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society member.
