The other way of looking at it might be if you're a marginal D2 player and your program is going FCS. You might be seeing the writing on the wall.

I see what you're saying, Homer, but there's a different dynamic there. That's a matter of kids and/or their coaches thinking the athletes are FCS talent, and they prove not to be.

This will be D2 kids moving up into FCS (plus whatever freshmen and/or transfers contribute).

Sure - and James Madison would stomp UTEP "year in year out" and Mount Union would stomp Seton Hill "year in year out". The upper levels of divisions bleed well into the lower part of the division above.

Based on common opponents last year, Merrimack lost to Bryant, who finished 2nd in the NEC, by 8, and lost to Post by 42. It's not a direct comparison of course, but it's a fair guess that you could drop Post into the NEC right now and they wouldn't finish last.

Easy to do when you had lay up victories over Millersville, Lock Haven and Cheyney. You had to come up with two more wins. I believe 2012 you had three wins against Clarion, Millersville and Cheyney. Not really not good when you're only beating doormats!

They beat West Chester a couple of times as well, so it's not like they were only beating up the PSAC East's resident doormats...
