Post game thoughts sure; offense will be fine Trigger can make all the throws and looks like a leader who will get better when the rest wears off. Receivers and backs are above average with 2 potential stars in Brown and Bullock if he stays healthy, and didn't even use Frosh Hauser. OL solid and experienced what else can u ask for. Defensive observation back 7 much faster than last year, both corners above average and frosh #34 looks special. LBS solid as expected. 2 young kids in middle starting to play nasty and with a motor. Tillman solid DE one player they can't afford to lose. Kicking game and special teams concerning return men are top level game changers especially punt return if he doesn't take one or two to the house I will be shocked....
concerns kickoff specialist not good needs to get better for sure. Defensive issue against the run especially holding the edge...NH good team that played hard and was there before which showed could of folded down 14 on road as game doesn't mean that much as all that have to do is win Conference and there in playoffs.....just sayin

My First IUP Game...
Thoughts from the stands:
1) Way more than announce attendance was there. I was in Section B, on the 40 and there wasn't a seat around me. Not to mention a few hundred standing all around the fence/
2) Tailgating was pretty good, although I saw a lot more Away colors than Home colors in the Tailgating lot.
3) Id say a majority of students left at Halftime.
4) I sat next to an elder gentleman, has been coming to games since he played in the 50's. Pretty cool to hear his stories.
5) There was an elder gentleman next to him who stole my Program. It's ok, I'll grab a few more from my son.
Thought on the game:
1) Too many turnovers, but only 1 was the QB's fault. But I liked his aggressiveness.
2) QB had a nice touch on the ball
3) Pretty speedy defensive backs.
4) way too many yards giving up right up the gut, but DL was able to adjust closer to the goal line
5) Game never felt as close as the score indicates. Never felt that IUP was going to lose it, even though it got close.
Since Millersville is close to me, I'm probably going to go to that game, even though my son won't travel. And I'll be back to IUP the following week for Lock Haven.

Maxwell will be just fine. He's going to get better with each game. We forget he hasn't played a whole lot of 'live' football in the past two years. He was shaking some rust off against a strong defense. It was his first game with a new team and high expectations. It's only natural he was probably a bit wound up.
I think we all saw his first two plays of the game and were envisioning John Elway.
Personally, I saw an awful lot to like about him. For starters, that arm is legit. It's been awhile since IUP was a legit threat to throw bombs. Obviously, as we all saw, he's not afraid to launch. Add to it he moves pretty well and can take off when needed or called upon. Did he miss some open guys and force a couple throws ... yes. But, again, shaking off the cobwebs. I did think they could have put that game away a couple different times but the positive is now they've been in a tight game in the second half and finished it. New Haven isn't going to lose many more games this season. The running game wasn't really there in the first half. IUP finished with just 109 (net) yards rushing on 35 attempts (3.1 avg).
IUP will be a headache for coaches to prepare for each week.
Side note:
Penalty or not, Duane Brown's electric punt return is on film. He won't be getting kicked to much this year. It's pretty clear if he isn't the best athlete on the team he's on a real short list. He only got three touches (two receptions and one run). Two of them were TDs. I assume they'll get his touches way up here in the coming weeks.
