  • What should Shepherd expect from Kutztown?

All I know about KU is that they have a great qb and have won their first 3 games.

Expect the best team you have faced so far this year, who actually can defend the pass.

Instead of contributing actual content to a thread leading up to an actually interesting game, both of you went the low-effort route. Good job, hope you're proud of yourselves.

Kutztown's offense, obviously, speaks for itself. DiGalbo is a great, experienced QB and they have a deep corps of receivers. They don't rush all that much, and most of their rushing yards come from DiGalbo, which only underscores his importance to that team. Their main weakness from what I've seen is that, against good teams, they have a tendency to give up points and let them hang around until the end of the game. Shepherd's most likely road to victory comes from keeping pace with the Bears over the first three quarters, and then being the last team with the ball in the fourth.

One interesting stat is that the only two games they've lost in 2018 or 2019 are the games in which they failed to score 30 points. Obviously not an easy thing to prevent, but if Shepherd can manage that, it makes their chances at a win that much higher.

Well said, EastStroud. I think DiGalbo, Bagent and Roland Rivers are the PSAC's top three QBs.

Just watched the KU and Cal U replay. Just a few observations: Older experienced team that only has 4 freshman, according to the announcers. Shep is a very young team with several freshmen playing; They do not give up and were resilient after 4 interceptions. They put pressure on the quarterback. They make big plays for touchdowns; Shep will have to put together a complete game to have a chance of winning.

They'll pick that Cal game tape apart. He made some big plays but Cal's secondary had some MASSIVE blown coverages in that game, too.

Cal still picked him 3 times.

Kutztown held a strong Cal offense to just 21 points. Their other TD was the pick six.

The Bears aren't much of a threat to run minus the QB. It will be interesting to see how Shepherd schemes them. The picks against Cal came when they got pressure on him. Let him sit back there and he'll shred you.

My prediction is that the total of pass attempts will be more than the total rushing yards by both teams :)

It's really not THAT serious bud - but thanks for the input.

Funny thing is they owned all of those penalties except the one that got KUTZ to 27-24. Horrible PI flag.
