So many upsets yesterday with this one being the headliner. With there seeming to be a little more parity in FBS, the expanded playoffs couldn’t have come at a better time. That title is truly up for grabs among several teams this year. Currently three of the top five are in the BIG, but that’s going to sort itself out because Ohio State plays both Oregon and Penn State. Pitt cracked the poll this week coming in at 22 but they’re in a pretty good position right now. I’m not sold at all on Miami and Clemson isn’t the dominant team it was a few years ago.Originally posted by Chuck Norris View PostBama goes down at Vanderbilt

Pitt has a tough schedule left. There aren’t any games I look at and say they can’t win, but I honestly don’t see any that are certain wins either. They have a fun team to watch with lots of firepower, but they’ve played 3 teams with a pulse so far and they’ve all been a struggle. But with that offense they should be in every game.Originally posted by EyeoftheHawk View Post

Not sure what you are trying to say. When you play teams with a pulse, they generally aren’t games to coast through for an easy win. If 3 of your 5 games are against teams with a pulse, thats a harder road than a lot of teams have had to this point in the season, and they are 5-0.Originally posted by Chuck Norris View Post

I’m trying to say exactly what I said, you’re just looking for an insult where there isn’t one. I think Pitt is a good team and could potentially be very good. I also think their remaining schedule has a lot of really solid teams on it and right now I wouldn’t be all that surprised if they lost to any of them. That could certainly change as the season moves along.Originally posted by IUP24 View Post

I'm not looking for an insult. I just don't understand the "and they've all been a struggle" comment. You can say that about a ton of teams who are 4-1 or 5-0 at this point, is I guess what I'm saying. You can say that about Miami - they had to outscore Cal 29-3 in the final 18 minutes and come back from 11 down to beat VT in the final 4 minutes. But I'm with you regarding their schedule.Originally posted by Chuck Norris View Post

I'll be in Dallas and Louisville for those two road games. Cal is a really good team coming in on Saturday. They have a lot of challenging games in front of them. But the good news for Pitt is they play all the teams who look to be in the ACC championship mix.

From noon until well after midnight that had to be one of the more entertaining days of college football we’ve seen in some time. While I was left crestfallen by Pitt and Penn State’s margins of victory for reasons I won’t discuss here, they both found ways to win on days where their strongest units weren’t at their best and Penn State went over 2,000 miles to do it. This country wide Big Ten is hard for old schoolers like myself to get used to but it provides some extraordinarily entertaining matchups.

And it's doing it with Washington, UCLA, and Michigan not up to their usual standard. A couple of good recruiting classes at those places, and it's going to be one tough league. I also look for Nebraska and Wisconsin to continue to slowly improve under Rhule and Fickell, two guys who have a a good track record. And your ol' boy Cignetti has even kicked some life into Bloomington.Originally posted by Chuck Norris View PostFrom noon until well after midnight that had to be one of the more entertaining days of college football we’ve seen in some time. And honestly, one or two upsets can totally upend the conference championship.Originally posted by Ship69 View Post
