I buy a 12-pack of RC once a year for old-time sake.
I remember in Junior High the local Giant Eagle used to carry this brand named JOLT (advertised as double caffeine). We'd buy it and then play Super Tecmo all night. Yes, we were obviously cool.

It absolutely did back in the day and probably still tastes just fine. It’s more about my quest to stay fit as I age. I’ve cut a lot of stuff out (mostly sweets) and part of that is training my body that what once tasted amazing now tastes awful.Originally posted by IUP24 View Post
Cherokee Red is my favorite childhood beverage! LOL
I think it actually tasted great!

Back in college, my fraternity made a last-minute decision (i.e. during the party on Friday night) to drive to the Edinboro game at Lock Haven and tailgate before. We scrounged together a grill and a drink jug and mixed Cherokee Red and vodka (I remember it being better than we anticipated). This was peak Sharon Taylor Lock Haven, so nobody cared about football at the Haven. By the time the Boro football team buses rolled in, we were feeling pretty good and I'm sure made quite the impression.Originally posted by IUP24 View Post

When I lived in Durham, North Carolina from ages 6-8 that's what we drank...Mom's choice. It was cheaper than Coke and Pepsi and she bought it for us kids and never drank it herself. Just a middle class Mom trying to $ave for more important things. :)Originally posted by Fightingscot82 View Post

A friend of mine's dad is a massive packrat. He buys and sells on Ebay. Mostly sports collectibles. But a hodge podge of everything. Our families both had Pirates and Penguins season tickets growing up (he still does). We joke that he has every bobblehead ever given away at a Pirates or Penguins game. We joke, but it's probably true. That sets the stage and you get the picture.Originally posted by Fightingscot82 View Post

When we were kids, our entire group of friends loved Cherokee Red. LOVED IT. It was stockpiled in everyone's garages for when we were over each other's houses swimming.
The same friend I mentioned above, his parents have an annual Christmas party that the adult children are now all invited to attend. Two years ago, as we were drinking some adult beverages, the topic of Cherokee Red popped up. My friend's dad mentioned that he bought a bunch of cases of it a few years prior when he learned they were going to discontinue making it. He pulled a couple cans out and we cracked them in the basement. I'm not kidding you, I had never enjoyed drinking a pop so much in my life LOL. That was such a great drink!! It didn't need vodka! Haha

I'm not a gambler, but I am a degenerate. I think West Virginia will win 6 games. I didn't want RichRod back, but most other WVU fans seem happy with it.Originally posted by IUPbigINDIANS View PostFor you gambling degenerates, some CFB WINS over-under lines have posted. For the gamers out there, EA dropped the College Football 26 trailer and overview. I’m not sure I’ll be dropping $70 to have the game at launch this year but there are some upgrades and improvements that sound promising. It sounds like they’re going to make each school’s stadium experience more unique and accurate to real life with licensed music (including Enter Sandman) and other features. They’re also adding formation substitutions to Dynasty mode which was a glaring omission to me last year. They’ll also have over 300 actual coaches in the game instead of generic templates.

The formation subs was a horrific omission in CFB 25, I agree.Originally posted by Chuck Norris View PostFor the gamers out there, EA dropped the College Football 26 trailer and overview. There's been no hard reports that are indicative about the licensed music for the game outside of Enter Sandman (although there is some partnership with Metallica). I'm hopeful that they are able to get that addressed, but have not seen anything physically in writing from EA or any releases to suggest that they will have any additional authentic run out or stadium music outside of VT. Things like Back in Black at Iowa, Thunderstruck at Pitt and Bama, etc., are all things that would really make the game fun for players of all schools.
I recall them saying last year that there were licensing issues with getting music. My opinion is that I doubt they made many gameplay tweaks, and focused on these ancillary items which make the game feel more immersive and authentic to the players. I think they did a really good job with capturing the essence of college football in the first revision back after the hiatus. The game was really good. I do specifically remember them calling out 4th quarter traditions previewing the game last year, but I just never found any of those around the game. Every school mostly had the same cut scenes. I think much of it had to do with the licensing issues regarding the music. But if you're at LSU in a tight game, it would be awesome to hear "Calling Baton Rouge" with the fans singing. Or "Won't Back Down" in Gainesville. Sweet Caroline at Pitt. Dixieland Delight in Tuscaloosa. Etc.. That's the stuff the game is missing.

My only reservation is it does seem like EA is being very closed lipped about mostly everything regarding the release of this year's game compared to last year. We're basically 6 weeks away from the release of the game and there are virtually no details that have been released yet on anything outside of just things like "Road to Glory will start in high school in CFB 26."Originally posted by Chuck Norris View PostFor the gamers out there, EA dropped the College Football 26 trailer and overview. That's sort of my only concern. I know we'll see new things. I'm just wondering what the depth of some of those new things look like.

You’re right, it just says new PA tracks including Enter Sandman so no indication of whether there are other licensed songs.Originally posted by IUP24 View Post

Overall, I think unless people are absolutely losing their minds about how great it is when it launches, I’ll be waiting for a price reduction before I grab it.
