16 is better than 12 in my opinion. It doesn’t add any more rounds to the tournament, just eliminates the byes, which I’ve argued since before last year’s playoffs aren’t an advantage anyway. The teams who get them are off for too long.
The coaches who get fired will get more money in their buyout than I’ll make in several lifetimes. I’m not shedding a single tear for that.
Nobody is shedding a tear for those guys. I'm just saying it will lead to even more chaos.
What's funny about the upcoming playoff expansion is, in reality, it's just the pimps working the whores even harder (and longer). Hell, they'll be playing a longer season than the NFL.
I guess we're past even pretending the 'student' part of 'student athlete' matters.
On the 'student' subject ... I'd just love to see the transcripts of these kids who play for 4 teams in 4 years.
Obviously, Ship has direct ties to the most infamous of all the school-hoppers. Imagine the swag collection. Six schools has to be a record.
That hopper was probably the only time I've ever seen Chris Fite surprised by a transfer.
Yes. I think a lot of this is a game to get raises. Hell, we'd do the same in our own lines of work.
I guess by default its likely that Terry Smith is the guy and that should be fine.
I also believe with good reason that coaches want to stay away due to the unreasonable expectations of the JoeBots and big money boosters.
I don’t know, Pat Kraft looks really bad right now. If he promotes Smith to full time HC, which he clearly does not want to do, he’s essentially waiving the white flag that he failed to land a coach at one of college football’s biggest brands.
Ohio State OC Brian Hartline is a name that I’ve seen floating around. I think the hot coordinator is probably the way to go at this point, whether it’s Hartline or someone else. Sitting HCs just aren’t into this job other than using it to get a better situation with their current employer.
Or they could hire Brian Daboll. Would that excite anyone?

No idea how the JoePa AD survives this mess. They can't give that job away.
Yeah just saw that. I googled coordinators who could be HC candidates. Saw a list that had both of Curt Cignetti’s coordinators on it, not surprisingly. OC is Mike Shanahan who played at Pitt and has essentially been with Curt ever since. The DC is a little older and more experienced. If you can’t lure Cig, maybe one of his lieutenants?
This one's a stretch - but if they refuse to name Smith the guy - what about going hard after PJ Fleck? He's only making $6M at Minnesota. Although Fleck says that Minnesota was a bucket list job for him.
The Lettermen are lining up for Smith. Kraft has a sh*t sandwich situation right now. He's gotta justify his hire in any case now.
