First, it makes my year when Ohio State can’t win it all. I was neutral on Ohio State until I lived in Columbus for several years. Great town and good people except when it comes to the Buckeyes. I don’t even know how to explain it but it’s very, very strange.
As for the game, it’s how Miami won that impressed me. They physically dominated Ohio State laying out nasty hit after nasty hit and good on the refs for not calling a bunch of things both ways that are typically called and ruin games. It looked like “The U” of old last night and I have to say, I’m kind of bought in and suddenly have a rooting interest outside of Curt. I watched Miami three times this year and they’re fun to watch. How they lost to Louisville and SMU is baffling.

Not a fan of either team and never will be. I think the Indiana game exposed the Buckeyes' o-line, and for much of the game they didn't exactly impress against Michigan and certainly not against Texas. The lack of divisions in these bloated conferences has resulted in ridiculous scheduling anomalies and so you see things such as a five-loss Duke team that was pounded by Illinois in the ACC title game rather than Miami. I'm with you, though — how they managed to lose two games in the ACC is baffling.Originally posted by EyeoftheHawk View PostFirst, it makes my year when Ohio State can’t win it all. The teams that have received first-round byes are now 0-5 in the 12-team playoff, and an Ole Miss win over Georgia is probably the only result that would surprise me today.

How can anyone root for Miami? It disgusts me watching that coked up fool Michael Irvin and his antics. It was good to see Ohio St lose just for a different team but I just can't root for Miami. I'll be rooting for Curt today but I struggle to see them beating Bama. Bama is just so talented on D. Indiana will struggle to score. Yes, I took Bama plus 7.
Oregon -2.5, Bama +7, Georgia -6.5.

Usually I would root for the Big 10 at this point but I was rooting for Miami because my old freshman floormate at IUP, AD Dan Radakovich, runs the show down there. He was hired to bring Miami back and he has done just that. Outstanding member of the IUP family. Probably the best college AD this century.Originally posted by IUPalum View PostHow can anyone root for Miami? It disgusts me watching that coked up fool Michael Irvin and his antics. Took my son to see Miami play Pitt this November. Miami impressed me all day. Their line and linebacker play is exceptional. Remember when nobody wanted Pitt to hire Mario Cristobal?Originally posted by EyeoftheHawk View PostFirst, it makes my year when Ohio State can’t win it all. Interesting that Oregon has the odds. What I've seen of that Texas Tech defense impressed me. Should be an interesting game, maybe the best of the day.Originally posted by IUPalum View PostHow can anyone root for Miami? It disgusts me watching that coked up fool Michael Irvin and his antics. Miami looked like a team focused and ready to play. The Bucknuts looked like a team that thought all they had to do was show up and Miami would roll over.
The pick 6 sucked the life out of the Bucknuts in the first half. It looked like they’d come back but Sayin went back to playing scared.
Nits fans had to be happy to see Columbus and Ann’s Bush lose on the same day.
