Regardless, it was a freaking monsoon the entire day. The big crowd they were likely anticipating never showed up.

A buddy and I drove up. Anyway, point of the story is Akron has a fantastic stadium. I think it would be perfect for the majority of P4 programs.

Obviously the PSU types need the giant cathedrals, but most just need a really nice, 35,000-seat stadium.

And, naturally, it's nearly empty for most Akron games.
There are some nice MAC stadiums - in size, not aesthetics, that harken from the days when there was an attendance requirement for FBS. The MAC schools went and built concrete fortresses surrounded by parking miles similar to some of the midwest pro sports stadiums. Unfortunately, this was all around when it became wildly unpopular to follow the second echelon of top tier college football. Akron's stadium is probably the nicest of the MAC, but like most others, its rarely more than half full. In fact, Akron has never sold out its stadium. Unfortunately in the MAC, nobody cares except for the diehards lifelong fans and the bandwagons who only come around when the traveling annual top 25 MAC team designation is bestowed upon their school.

    • The Hoosiers already proved me dead wrong last week so I’m not going on record picking them to lose, but in a rematch like this I’d much rather be the team who lost the first game. I’m nervous for Curt and company, although they seem unfazed by anything. It certainly helps that most of the team has been in college since the last time Mike Tomlin won a playoff game.

We can play a game “Is Michael Irvin coked out of his mind or not”

Im bummed I stop watching last night at halftime but it was a school night and I’m up at 4:15 in the morning. I wished Ole Miss had won.

People can make fun of that guy all they want, but he's exactly what college football is supposed to be. People who are proud alumni, proud of the school they played for, and proud to be part of the university community. I think Irvin's vested interest in Miami football is awesome.

And in just a few short years, we won't be able to talk about devoted former players anymore.

Well, the Lane Train may be in some seriously hot water. So, Ole Miss has that going for it. This Washington QB item is getting real messy.

            • The ACC doesn’t require its teams in the playoffs to share playoff payouts. Teams going to Miami are given 3 million travel expenses,

Miami is going to pocket 23 million.

His interest may be awesome. It doesn’t change the fact he’s been a huge pile of 💩 of a human being for most of his life.

                • Curt’s Fake Indiana Hoosiers are playing like Frank’s Real Indiana INDIANS from the early 90’s..just laying waste to the opposition.

                    • I’m gonna stop doubting Indiana now. And their fans are absolutely going to take over Miami’s home stadium next Monday night. I hope it’s a good game, but it feels like more of a coronation than a competition. Miami got pretty beat up against Ole Miss.

                      • This is the beauty of the playoff. In the old systems, neither Indiana or Miami would have been in contention for a national championship. Indiana would have been buried in the top 25 as would Miami. It doesn't matter what anybody thinks, the result comes from the field.

I agree. It’s a college sport playoff so there’s always going to be something to complain about, but in the end it’s decided on the field, as it should be.

                            Indiana is 15-0.

What would they have been buried in ?

I think the media would have buried them. Until the CFP, the media had way too much say in who could be champion.

Indiana ended the season as the only undefeated P5 champ. They jumped to 3rd in the AP poll on October 12th after beating Oregon and moved up to 2nd the very next week. on In the older systems (either 4-team CFP or BCS) they would have been in for sure. People on here just make sh*t up because there’s no meaningful evidence to support the idea that they would have been left out.
