Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby is entering some sort of treatment for a “gambling addiction.” The most important piece of this news is that Sorsby allegedly bet on Indiana while with the Hoosiers in 2022



I’m guessing that he’s going to be done as an NCAA player even if there’s no proof of match-fixing, given the hard line the NCAA takes on betting on your own team.

Well, if this opens Pandora's Box ... look out.

RMU AD Chris King is out effective immediately (he's already scrubbed from online). That's a peculiar one because he's very popular and is an alum with great NCAA connections. One of his official references when hired at RMU was Oliver Luck. Transitioned UTRGV through a merger and into D1 (WAC) plus oversaw compliance at Central Florida and Alabama.

I doubt any local PSAC ADs will go for it, but you never know. That $235k salary with potential for bonus, car lease, and country club membership will attract flies to the fresh pile.

Other than Belichick winning a really ugly game in Ireland, I thought the most interesting note of week zero was North Dakota State’s dominant FBS debut. My initial prediction was that NDSU would make the playoff within 5 years. I’m officially bumping that down to 3 years.

That USC crowd this weekend was honestly pretty shocking. Only 51,144 were announced for the opener, the lowest home attendance under Lincoln Riley. I know the heat played a major factor, but seeing that much empty space in the Coliseum was still a crazy look for a program like USC.

Unless USC is really cooking, nobody in LA cares. Too much competition. Odd for such a brand but LA is an odd place.
