Love them or hate them, Texas and Ohio State both signed the contract. Neither had any actual reason to take the game.

So, credit to both of them. Curt was playing Howard. Notre Dame was acting like it just won the Natty after hammering Rice. Penn State's first actual game is still like 5 weeks out.

These made-for-TV, early showdowns are great. But, they are a dying breed. Too many are too afraid to take the game.

In the publicity AP Poll, Ohio State is now No. 6 (after losing on the road by 1 point at Texas). Curt and the Irish Catholics both naturally passed them.

Wonder which big boy will get Mercyhurst first? The Lake Show program is essentially being whored out to any football school who will pay them to visit. What's funny is Mercyhurst would probably finish 4th in the PSAC 'this' season.
