  • Missing without Action?

Shepherd over the years has not been really proactive on supplying their rosters too early but this year they actually have a 2020 roster showing already.

A couple of surprises, with the biggest in my opinion of a missing Adam McClean from Maryland who was supposed to be one of the anchors we needed to get back to the D line playoff caliber level from years past. I believe it was academic problems last year, & am wondering if that is still the issue or has he moved on?? Certainly would be a loss no matter what the reason.

Note that the roster is showing Adam Stilley, OL transfer from WVU , listed as a junior from those good Martinsburg state champion teams that produced T Bagent.

Also in the "how did this come about " category is a junior transfer O lineman from Ocala Fla coming from New Mexico Highlands, wow.

With around 62 Sophomores & Juniors listed, the Rams are still a fairly young team with plenty of challenges to make a deep playoff run if we actually do have a season!

    Thanks for the update.

In regards to former UMD DL Adam McLean, probably have to wait a bit. It might be a simple oversight by the Shepherd staff. I just took a peep at his Twitter account and he still states he's at Shepherd, also showing some workouts. Also, remember the Lock Haven RB Chantz Swartz. He's also not listed on the roster as well. I would just give it some time, unfortunately until Fall camp.

      1. Adam McLean tweeted in December that he likes to finish what he starts and would be returning to UMD to graduate there. However, in May there's a report that he will be playing for Bowie St. this season. https://twitter.com/ITLR_DMV/status/1262381893603020806
      2. Stilley was a walk-on at WVU that I don't believe saw any game action. However, he's certainly bulked up from his HS days and could compete for the starting spot at center.
      3. No idea how Beasley ended up in Shepherdstown. He was a starting RT at NM-Highlands. With Joey Fisher entrenched at RT he could potentially slide inside and compete at RG.

Thanks for the inside info. Sounds like McLean doesn't really know what he is going to do.

The way things are going right now I really am wondering if any games will be played this fall!

Thanks Pine Ridge for providing this update. I did a little more digging and found this article with video. The article states McLean will be attending Bowie State:

I was hoping to see McLean play at Shepherd.

It looks like there won't be a Shepherd/IUP game with the updated schedule. Although, we need to be thankful for any games we get to play this season.

I agree, teams should be thankful, especially the seniors, if they get to play any games this year. But IUP losing the Shepherd match up hurts their strength of schedule. IUP is now down to 9 games for teh regular season, thanks to not scheduling an out of conference season opener.
