I like the helmet pics in this story. I wonder how soon other conferences will follow suite?

Oh yes, that is a great site! I like to see what helmets teams had in past decades. It must take a lot of work to keep that updated.

I provided the stadium aerials for the PA high school helmets website about five years ago. But I think that website has become a dinosaur.

With DIII, this saves them real dollars by cancelling travel and not having to spend on prevention, monitoring, etc. I bet legal was also advising them to avoid crowds. I know the president of a college affiliated with this conference - if it comes up the next time we speak I'll ask about the rationale beyond my intuition.

I believe other D3 conferences will follow suit, followed by all of D2 and half of FCS. The TV money the FCS schools receive is pennies on a dollar compared to what testing/monitoring will cost. I'm all for college football but not at the expense of the players/coaches/staff health and lives. Put that energy and time into research to get a satisfying vaccination so that we can have winter sports.

The SIAC and CIAA also cancelled fall sports, so dominoes are falling. That's half of SR2. Big boys will probably hold on for an abbreviated schedule, but it's looking tough for D2...

I can't believe I forgot about the cost for constant testing and monitoring. I have to agree with you, I want to watch some football. However, it is not looking good.

                    It's over, Johnny.

Pro sports can probably pull it off. The peasant leagues of D2 have no chance.

At this point I think it's safe to say there will be no college football below the FBS level. And that may be restricted to just conference play with the P5 as the independents may have a hard time playing half a season with no Big 12, Big 10, ACC, Pac 12 or SEC teams on their schedule. D2 financially it's darn near impossible not to mention many conferences members are spread out by 4-5 hour bus rides. Hopefully the NCAA lifts scholarship numbers by 10-15 for all divisions for the next 2-3 years so kids who want to return for their senior year can do so without being pushed out in favor of incoming freshmen and incoming freshman don't have offers pulled due to lack of scholarships. At least at the D2 level we can just give out academic scholarships as opposed to D1 at the FBS level anyone on scholarship is considered against their 85 unless they walked on and didn't sign an NLI.

Possibly ... but the kids still have to qualify for them. Schools can't be giving out academic rides to a linebacker with a 1.8 GPA.

I think the lower levels should strongly consider moving to the spring. Otherwise coaching staffs are vulnerable to furlough or layoff.

D3 NASCAC won't have conference contests this fall.

And this won't help the overall PSAC picture one bit.
