I wonder how many seniors at this level will choose to pay whatever theyre paying out of pocket to play in 2021. And postpone the next step for them. Obviously, they will get the year of eligibilty but wheres the money come from at this level.
Since we're talking D2 which means ? 1% chance of even a CFL opportunity, my guess is that most of the seniors will reluctantly move on with their lives. Jobs are going to be extremely difficult to line up even for solid but not exceptional students and a lot of these players will likely have to be part of their family's support structure if one or both of their parents are out of work.

Write big checks. Lol. That's where it comes from. Get anybody who qualifies on academic money. They can get creative to an extent.

They won't have to pay out of pocket unless the team can't give them any money. Where would you rather spend your money ... on the seniors or incoming freshmen? They'll find ways to keep the ones they want on scholarship ... in my opinion. As stated, some will bail. Some will want to stay around. They can have another year of BMOC or go start some entry-level job.

I bet returners won't get the $$ increases they assumed would come, seniors may get some money cut, etc.
