    Not bad for Sept. 13.
Good thing only the freshman are there...wink wink.

That area is essentially like its own town. There are hundreds of townhomes there -- and it's a mix of college and locals.

How in the heck does a 250-person parking lot party (at 12:30am) not get the police called upon?
      What part of town?

We'll learn soon enough. If history shows anything it's that IUP-related shootings are typically very quickly solved. There was obviously a ton of witnesses there -- who inevitably will start to talk and cooperate. And, it sounds like they left a mountain of evidence behind.

The victim is critical but it sounds like he's going to make it. IUP has not stated whether the 19-year-old victim is an IUP student or not -- only that he's from Aliquippa.

They were solid----something most announcers don't bring anymore. Professionals.

But Lordy----why are the Stillers donning Antwon Rose Jr.'s name on the back of their helmets??? He was a drive-by shooter for God's sake. He had an empty 9-milimeter clip in his pocket, a nine stashed under his seat, gun powder residue on his hands that indicated he had fired a handgun. Plus, there were bullet holes in their car---which fit the description of the one used in the crime. The police officer who capped him for fleeing a felony stop did right by me. I would have done the very same thing. Race doesn't mean a thing in the issue.

            Do a drive-by
            Then kiss your azz goodbye

Look at how long those guys lived after doing them in Boyz In The Hood.

Yuuuuuuppppp. Funny the people certain groups want to make "heros" and symbols of "systemic racisim" by the police. Bet no NFL teams put the LA County Deputies that were shot in the head on the back of their helmets any time soon.

Think back to that time. The cop in New Kensington (Pittsburgh suburb) got killed under very similar circumstances. Pulled the car over. Dude (known drug dealer) took off running. He chased him and then the guy turned around and shot him several times.

                How about honoring the cop?

BTW, the officer was Brian Shaw ... who was the kicker at Slippery Rock for four years. RIP.

Anyone suspected of being present for a crime deserves to be shot if he runs? The DA never provided any evidence that Rose should have been a suspect before or after the Rosfeld trial. The DA had nothing but circumstantial evidence against the kid. No proof that Antwon Rose was the shooter. The actual evidence says a different gun was used. Rosfeld pulled over the car because it matched the description. A kid ran. Rosfeld never confirmed that the car or that the men inside were indeed involved. He could have chased them down. He could have fired a taser. Instead he initiated deadly force and killed a suspect. Video shows the driver firing a .40 cal. Rose was a passenger and had a .9mm. Also, the amount of gunpowder residue was also consistent with being shot, not necessarily with firing a gun. The Medical Examiner said just that:

In the end, it was proven in court that the video evidence was correct: the driver was the shooter. He was apprehended, charged, found guilty, and sentenced to 6 to 22 years. His name is Zaijuan Hester, not Antwon Rose.

This isn't Deadwood. Every MFer in this country is supposed to get a fair trial regardless of what they're accused of (Antwon Rose) or what they did several years ago (George Floyd). That's not some leftist opinion - its been in the US Constitution since 1791. Your opinion that the kid deserved to be killed isn't just anti-Constitution, its the attitude that's the problem: that lethal or extreme force is disproportionately used when African Americans are suspected of crimes. Police carry a tool belt that would make Batman jealous. Almost every copy carries pepper spray and a taser. But maybe they want to be Dirty Harry, not Good Cop.

IUP just announced ... up to 87 positive tests.

Of note, zero hospitalizations. But, it's spreading through town like a Mo Fo.

They are on a heck of a pace.

We've had 87 cases, huge parties nightly, a stabbing and a shooting.

Who knows what's next. The week is young.

But, no worries, this quote was on WTAE:

"We take it day by day," IUP spokeswoman Michelle Fryling said. "We haven't made any decisions to change course. We're continuing our messaging. We're working with our community, and we're trusting our students to step up and do the right thing and so far they have."

Lordy. She must be working from home.

Well, even if they go fully online, the students with leased off-campus apartments aren't going anywhere. That's where the problems are.
