Well, we will be gone, but unfortunately our kids and grandkids won't. The big shots promote short-term junk that will bring them big financial returns precisely because they believe it will be someone else's problem in the future, not theirs. That's why it's a bad idea to have a bunch of old fossils in legislative bodies.

Hit the nail on the head there. Shouldn't be able to run for office after your 65th bday. Need people invested in the future, not the short term like you are saying.

There are a lot of problems. I don't care about coal mining in WV because I don't live there, is not one of them.

Maybe you have one foot in the ground but I’m still waiting to retire…

Plenty of people are still pretty sharp around age 65. Winston Churchill was 66 when he took over as prime minister of Britain in 1940, and I think few would argue that he wasn't an inspirational leader at that time. I do think when you start getting over 75 the energy levels start to run down for most people, and you don't want a lot of people that age dominating Congress. You do have to have room for people with a younger outlook.

I find that absurd. But I remember previous comments about age that have been made. I'm 66, going on 67 and still do a pretty good job in a professional setting, managing, communicating, planning. So, I think maybe if you add several years to that upper age limit. I think 75 would be appropriate. Seems like both Biden and Trump lost their faculties around 79-80. Trump's demise has come earlier than Biden's.

Hahahahaha. The guy who still regularly does press conferences solo with a frequently hostile press corps had an “earlier” demise than the guy who handed off pardon power to the autopen aides and had to stop taking questions after sunset because his dementia made him keep falling asleep. That’s one of the funniest things I’ve ever read on this website.

Gannon's president did an interview where he said roughly 25% of their enrollment is "global" which I assume means international students. That population at every school is way down as it has become harder to get a student visa to study in the USA but also fewer international students are interested in coming given the current climate. Gannon president said they've had to restructure to address reduced revenue. International students at private schools pay the pseudo-fake MSRP sticker price that almost no domestic students pay.
A lot of schools use "global" as a term for online education (eg.: University of Maryland Global Campus, PennWest Global Online, etc.), so he could've been referring to online students as opposed to students from other countries physically being in Erie.

I consulted AI and it says 20-25% of Gannon's student body is foreign students. That's a lot.

IUP has always had a large foreign student presence. The numbers I found were 900 in 2014 but in 2026 it's down to 400.

They both played some football. Some day autopsies could tell us if they both had CTE.

It will be down to zero soon enough. They’ll just stop coming. I doubt the Gestapo would show up in Indiana…but you never know.

You can talk me into 70, but still the point being we need people invested in the next 20-30 years rather than the next 2-4 years. 75 is a no for me. For these career politicians, go retire and live comfortably off the money you stole from everyone.

                              • Villanova University now has its own Wawa on campus.

The new store, which opened inside the Connelly Center, Villanova University’s main student union, last semester, is another example of how Wawa keeps experimenting with new store concepts, from college campuses to dense urban locations, while sticking to the menu people expect.

The Villanova location accepts cash, credit, Points, and Nova Bucks, giving students easy access to hoagies, coffee, and snacks without leaving campus.
