Call me crazy, but I think Kevin Stefanski was the best coach in the AFC North. And I don't think it's particularly close. Harbaugh is a good coach, but his shortcomings are very similar to that of Tomlin. If I were Baltimore, I'd hire Stefanski immediately. Two-time coach of the year. Really smart offensive guy. Very creative in developing schemes in the run game. I bet he gets more out of Lamar Jackson if he's the head coach.Originally posted by EyeoftheHawk View Post
I’m shocked. I know he was close to being let go one other time, but man Baltimore had a ton of injuries this year. I can’t imagine anyone they get will be better.
It's overlooked, but John Harbaugh was just 3-6 with Lamar Jackson in the postseason.
I actually think the Ravens firing Harbaugh puts more pressure on Mike Tomlin to win on Monday. If he loses a 5th straight Wild Card game, I think he's gone. The Ravens letting Harbaugh go almost seems like it gives the Steelers "permission" to do the same with Tomlin.

I've been saying this too. Stefanski winning 2 COY at Cleveland is wild considering all the BS that he's had to deal with from ownership to the front office. The Browns played hard too, all the way to the end. I was hoping the Commanders would fire Quinn and hire Stefanski.Originally posted by IUP24 View Post

The supposed offensive specialist whose offense has scored <15 points per game and won <=5 games both of the last two seasons? The AFC North coaching must be abysmal if that’s the best job anyone is doing.Originally posted by IUP24 View Post

Look at the organization. Cleveland is where head coaching careers go to die, yet Stefanski might be an NFL HC in 2026, or he’ll certainly be one in 2027. There’s a reason he spent six seasons in the stench of the Browns and is coming out without any on him.Originally posted by TheBigCat2192 View Post

Not a single coach in the NFL could have done better given watson situation. They should have just kept Mayfield, who was the first competent QB they've had in forever. The one year he had a healthy QB in Mayfield, they went 11-5 and made the playoffs (2020). 8-9 in 2021 with a clearly hobbled Mayfield, then they cut/trade him. No patience in ownership/upper mgmt.Originally posted by TheBigCat2192 View Post

In 2023 they went 11-6 with Flacco, Watson, DTR, Jeff Driskel, and PJ Walker all starting games.
The guy can coach if you give him any ingredients. Would be very interesting to see him with an organization with a clue.

Pull out any data point, metric, or research you want. I stand by the statement. He's an upgrade over a ton of sitting NFL head coaches.Originally posted by TheBigCat2192 View Post

Its humorous how much he gets on the nerves of football people because he doesn't look like a strapping alpha male and he's process oriented. The dude's bright (went to Harvard) and clearly knows football if he was hired at 22 by Mike Shanahan. I don't follow the Dolphins enough to say how much of their strugglers are his own fault. That team was designed around Tua and they've struggled mightily.Originally posted by Chuck Norris View PostMike McDaniel out in Miami. It seemed like he was going to survive another year. He didn’t do terribly, but definitely strikes me as a guy for whom offensive coordinator is the ideal job.

Listen to his news conferences, you would never guess it, he can hardly construct complete sentences. I think he is a pothead.Originally posted by Fightingscot82 View Post
