If we're going for a coordinator, Brian Flores is compelling. I believe what he has stated about his departure in Miami (as evidenced by the NFL penalties against the Dolphins after an investigation) and after seeing what's happened with McDaniel down there, I'm not sure how successful anybody could have been with the roster tumult (very similar circumstances to Flores struggling to move things forward).
I'd also suggest kicking the tires on Giants OC/Interim HC Mike Kafka.

I get the sense there’s going to be serious competition for Shula. Somebody might just offer him something that the Steelers can’t or won’t. If they are looking for a fourth straight coach who is in it for the long haul, Flores ain’t that guy. He’ll wear out his welcome fairly quickly. Minter feels like a ‘safe’ pick and Tomlin would endorse him, for whatever that might be worth. I know nothing about Weaver. The Dolphins weren’t good, but the Vikings were 6-10 the year Tomlin was hired, so he could always blow them away in the interview process.
Scheelhaase, despite being an offensive guy, seems to check a lot of their usual boxes. And it’s hard to ignore the success of the McVay coaching tree. I have a feeling if he interviews well he could be the guy.

Jerome Bettis is lobbying for Kevin Stefanski, who similarly is hard to judge because he was coaching within a total cluster.
I like Stefanski.
The 'Steeler Way' doesn't work anymore. The last decade is proof -- unless the goal is to go 9-8 and get hammered yearly in RD1.
I sure hope they don't go with the 30-year-old. Pro athletes will eat him alive.

If Stefanski gets support, he'll put a good product out there. His Cleveland teams for the most part were tough outs, which is really saying something. That ownership is the worst in sports right now.Originally posted by IUPbigINDIANS View Post

Stefanski is the one recycled HC I’d be alright with, but I just can’t see them doing that.Originally posted by Fightingscot82 View PostI think the Dolphins are just a troubled franchise so it doesn't matter who is the coach. I think they’ll stick with the template that has worked ( young assistant). They haven’t missed on a head coaching hire since 1969. Obviously a key component in all those previous hirings, Dan Rooney, is gone. Apparently Art II’s son is much more of a football guy than he is. Hopefully he has his grandfather’s football acumen.
