In that regard it's great timing. Other than Paul Skenes and Livvy Dunne, there isn't much going on, sports-wise, in the Yinzerlands.

The only other thing they have to talk about is how many times some Steeler takes a pi$$ at OTAs.

Pretty much…but they are the good story that is left.

Regardless of what happens they’ve already won. They went down there with absolutely no expectations and now they’re on the map beating some of the top teams in the country. Anything is possible, but the pitching staff is on fumes and that first round loss really made it an uphill battle. But what the hell, why not?

Absolutely.

Even if they lose tomorrow they still will have posted a 3-2 record in Cary. The top seed went 0-2.

They have accomplished something on the national level the foosball team hadn’t done since the 90’s

This has given us something to talk about when there isn’t anything to talk about in June.

Kind of ironic that THE IUP Football thread has been hijacked by the success of the baseball team.

Interestingly, the AD sent an email out yesterday recognizing the team’s success and concluded with a handy link for making a donation to the program. Well played to take advantage of the excitement surrounding the team right now. Maybe I missed it but I don’t recall ever seeing that for other programs.

People said the south had better baseball, but PA is having a good year. Misericordia won the D3 championship yesterday.

I was thinking that yesterday. IUP didn't even win the West Division this year and here they are.

The PSAC is much better in baseball than many think.

It doesn't show in those early games when our teams go down South. That's in large part because the southern teams get such a head start with the climate.

I would say the odds are against them today. As mentioned, the staff is running on fumes. If IUP has to go to the pen early it could be problematic.

But, worry about tomorrow, tomorrow.
